Erin Mock, MS

National Certified Counselor

I am trained in evidence-based modalities, particularly Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), the Gottman Method for relationships, and Motivational Interviewing. I work extensively with trauma, using EMDR, Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), and DBT for Trauma. I am always learning, so that if what we’re doing isn’t working, I’m ready to pivot.

About Me

I have a PhD in English and spent two decades in academia, helping develop students into deep thinkers and investigating how meaning is made. You are not a list of symptoms, but a complex, nuanced text. I transitioned from higher education to counseling because I wanted to apply intellectual depth and rigor to real-world stakes like yours.

Approach

People I’ve worked with describe me as nonjudgmental, perceptive, fearless, philosophical but practical, and intellectual but gritty. I work best with those at significant turning points: midlife, career or financial shake-ups, relationship changes, or the realization that it is time to live differently. If you are exhausted from trying to maintain control, if the things you do to keep living make living harder, if you are hijacked by your emotions, if you’re ready to see what’s next, let’s meet. We won’t just talk, we’ll work together to build something better.
