Approach

How does psychotherapy work?

Psychotherapy is based on scientifically validated approach to assist clients on living their best life. The psychologists and the client work collaboratively to identify underlying issues in a supportive, non-judgemental environment and objective environment. Psychotherapy identifies those factors that hinder clients from living their best life.

How long should therapy last?

How long therapy takes depends on the problem or disorder, the client's personality, how fast the patient is making progress and the goals of therapy. Some clients may gain a new perspective in the first session while for most they show changes in several sessions. Clients may get worse and experience negative emotions at the beginning of the sessions before they get better. For some clients it may take them a year or even two before benefiting from psychotherapy especially those with multiple serious traumas. It is therefore, important to give therapy a chance and to be consistent.
