Psychotherapist (Gestalt)

Verified

I am an experienced psychotherapist, working with clients on issues such as anxiety, stress, burnout, trauma, abuse, relationship difficulties, depression and personality disorders. I also support people going through life transitions and wishing to work on personal growth. I am very passionate about empowering clients to face and overcome whatever challenge they are facing, and believe that the work done in psychotherapy can be life changing.

About Me

I've been practising as a Psychotherapist since 2011, having read for a BSc in Psychology at Birkbeck, University of London, followed by a Masters in Gestalt Psychotherapy at GPTIM. I work therapeutically with adults, adopting an approach which is warm and empathic, yet direct and challenging when necessary. I work with clients on issues such as anxiety, stress, burnout, trauma, abuse, relationship difficulties, depression and personality disorders, as well as supporting people going through life transitions and wishing to work on personal growth. I also carry out group sessions, teaching mindfulness and providing support and guidance to reduce stress and anxiety. My passion for psychotherapy and self-development were borne from experiencing on a personal level the transformation which can take place when one invests in deep personal work. My personal life experiences have enabled me to understand and empathise more deeply with my clients, and in turn empower them to work through whatever challenges they may be facing. I believe that our attitude and mindset are immensely powerful in influencing how we face life’s challenges. Therefore, I'm passionate about empowering and supporting those I work with to overcome difficulties and live healthier, more fulfilling lives. I was brought up in Australia and spent 10 years living in the UK, which instilled in me a love of different cultures and a sensitivity to diversity in its different forms.

Approach

Whilst my approach is rooted in Gestalt Psychotherapy, my years working as a psychotherapist have exposed me to different therapeutic techniques and approaches, which I adapt according to what I feel is needed by the client. I provide a supportive and safe environment for clients to explore whatever it is they're going through, with the aim of gaining a deeper understanding of why particular behaviours and patterns have emerged, as well as their roots. Such insight and awareness can then form the platform from which deeper work in therapy takes place, with the aim of helping the client live a more satisfying and fulfilling life.
