About Me

I am Dr. Damla Yildirim, an international clinical psychologist based in Barcelona. My work is informed by my PhD training in Clinical Psychology and my ongoing specialization in Contemporary Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy, Mentalization-Based Treatment, and Relational Psychoanalysis. I support individuals experiencing anxiety, borderline personality dynamics, OCD, trauma, and relational difficulties. My clinical style integrates evidence-based interventions with analytic and mentalization-focused approaches to help clients develop emotional clarity, strengthen self-understanding, and build healthier relational patterns. International clients often appreciate my ability to combine psychological depth with practical strategies that promote stability and lasting change.

Approach

Rooted in analytic and relational psychotherapies, my approach focuses on understanding how your internal experiences and relationship patterns shape your emotional life. I pace the work carefully, ensuring sessions feel manageable, collaborative, and emotionally attuned. Together, we explore your relational dynamics, consider small, realistic experiments between sessions, and observe what shifts—helping you move toward clearer thinking, steadier moods, and greater agency. I typically begin with 3–4 weekly sessions to understand your needs and determine how we might work together. From there, we may continue with weekly or bi-weekly therapy. I work with both structured, brief therapeutic interventions and longer-term psychoanalytic psychotherapy, depending on what best fits your goals. We make these decisions together.
