About Me

I’m Damini Nayak, a therapist based in Bangalore with 8 years of experience. I have an MA in Applied Psychology (Clinical Psychology) from Tata Institute of Social Sciences. I work with adults, individuals, couples, and families, both online and in person. For me, therapy isn’t just a profession; it comes from a genuine interest in understanding people and what they go through. I believe our struggles don’t exist in isolation; they’re often shaped by our relationships and the environments we live in. This shapes how I work, whether it’s in therapy, life-skills work, or community mental health. I also enjoy sharing knowledge about mental health, because I’ve seen how understanding ourselves better can reduce stigma and help people feel more in control of their lives. Outside of work, I’m usually collecting more books than I can finish, stopping to pet friendly street animals, enjoying slow walks (especially in the mountains), or looking for my next good meal. These small things help me stay grounded and connected to what matters.

My approach is flexible and centred around each person. I work in a trauma-informed way, which means moving at a pace that feels safe and comfortable. Along with talking through experiences, I may also include simple body-based practices to support emotional regulation and awareness. Over time, I support clients in understanding their patterns, managing triggers, and building tools to feel more steady and confident in daily life.
