CORE SERVICES:
My therapeutic approach is eclectic and person-centered, deeply rooted in trauma-informed care. I blend talk therapy with somatic practices to address both emotional and physical aspects of mental health. My goal is to empower clients with the tools and knowledge to manage their triggers and challenges independently. Over time, I help clients build the confidence to navigate life without reliance on therapy, fostering self-sufficiency and growth. By creating an empathetic and non-judgmental environment, I help clients work through complex emotions and co-create a life that feels both meaningful and fulfilling.
Have you gone through therapy session after session and still found no real change? Your therapist might have been empathetic and knowledgeable; you may have identified core issues, connected the dots, and recognized the reasons behind your actions. Yet, despite all this insight, you still struggle to break free from old patterns? If this resonates with you, let me assure you—you are not alone.
Many people who feel stuck in therapy share a similar experience: they understand their problems intellectually, but the emotional and physical shifts they seek remain elusive. Often, this struggle is rooted in something deeper than conscious thought—our adult struggles are frequently deep-seated in early childhood experiences. Research shows that childhood is a critical period for emotional and psychological development, but it's also a time when we lack the language, cognitive skills, and reasoning to fully process what happens to us . Instead, a child’s primary language is sensation—their body and its responses to the world around them. They absorb and interpret their environment through non-verbal cues, bodily sensations, and emotional experiences.
This is why simply addressing issues from a cognitive perspective—understanding and rationalizing them—may not always be enough to promote healing. When trauma or emotional wounds are stored in the body, they can manifest as physical tension, stress, and other somatic symptoms. Studies have shown that trauma often resides in the nervous system, and addressing it requires an integrative approach that includes somatic work .
Somatic therapy, which involves listening to the body and allowing it to process stored emotions, has been shown to be an effective tool for healing trauma and emotional pain . By incorporating body-focused techniques like breathwork, mindfulness, and movement, we give the body a chance to release what it’s holding onto. Intellectual understanding can be helpful, but without integrating this with the body’s wisdom, the process of healing might feel incomplete.
This is why I make active efforts to incorporate body and somatic work into my therapy sessions. When we work to heal the wounds of the inner child, we must also address the body where those wounds were first felt. By combining cognitive insight with somatic practices, we can move towards a safer, more holistic recovery. This approach ensures that healing is not just an intellectual exercise but a full-bodied experience.
If therapy has felt like it’s falling short for you, consider a more integrated approach. Your body, as much as your mind, holds the key to unlocking deeper healing.
