A clinical psychologist with 30 years' experience in psychotherapy with adults, approached from a mindfulness basis

About Me

Drawing on 30 years of psychotherapy, I help adults cultivate inner clarity and calm. My work is approached from a mindfulness basis, offering a grounded, non-judgemental space. Here, you can explore thoughts and feelings, learning to respond to life's challenges with greater understanding. This approach is ideal for those seeking lasting insight and practical tools for their daily lives.

Approach

My therapeutic work is grounded in mindfulness – focussing the attention in the here-and-now with an attitude of kindness and compassion toward oneself and others. My background in psychodynamic psychotherapy provides an understanding of how our histories shape who we are today and how we relate with each other – and how we may break with old ways that no longer serve us. I am fully bilingual, conducting sessions in Afrikaans and English. When clients are travelling or unable to attend in person, I conduct remote sessions via video call.

I provide brief and long-term psychotherapy for adults who want to overcome emotional, mental and relationship challenges. People consult me about life questions, crises, transitions, stress management, anxiety, panic attacks, depression, difficulties with emotional regulation, and sexual and gender problems. I do self-development work with people who want to mature toward a more fulfilling experience of their lives, with a deepened sense of meaning, purpose and connected-ness to others.
