Dr Carisa Authier, PsyD
Psychology Practitioner
“Self-connection facilitator- I work through presence and intuitive inquiry, helping people recognize how present-day patterns are rooted in early experiences. I offer a non-pathologizing, presence-based space for people to understand themselves during times of transition and identity change. I’m not here to fix, label, or analyze you, but to help you understand yourself more clearly.”

About Me
I am a post-menopausal woman re-creating a life based on authenticity and presence. I bring skill sets from a number of different backgrounds, including hospice, the field of clinical psychology, and the feminine code, to both support and empower women to be their very best authentic selves.
Approach
A Non-Pathologizing Approach to Self-Understanding and Transition
I help people make sense of themselves during times of change — without diagnosis or pathologizing.
I am a psychologist by training and a guide for self-understanding by practice. My work is grounded in presence, intuitive inquiry, and developmental insight, and informed by years of experience in hospice care, community mental health, and research in the psychology of place.
I support people in understanding how early experiences, life transitions, and the environments we inhabit shape identity, behavior, and meaning. This work often arises during periods of change — endings, beginnings, losses, and moments when who we’ve been no longer fits who we are becoming.
I believe human behavior is meaningful and adaptive when understood in context. Rather than viewing patterns as problems to be fixed, I help people approach themselves with curiosity, coherence, and care.

Services
I work with people who find themselves in in-between spaces — moments when something familiar has ended, and what comes next is not yet fully formed.
This often includes people who are:
Moving through major life transitions such as loss, grief, relocation, career change, illness, or role shifts
Experiencing identity questions or a sense that who they’ve been no longer fits
Letting go of long-held narratives, relationships, or ways of being
Integrating past experiences that surface during times of change
Seeking meaning, coherence, and orientation rather than diagnosis or treatment
Many people come to this work during periods that feel liminal — thresholds marked by uncertainty, vulnerability, and possibility. These moments are not problems to be solved, but passages that deserve care, presence, and understanding.
This work is especially well-suited for those who are psychologically stable, reflective, and drawn to a non-pathologizing approach to growth and self-understanding.
