Clinical Psychologist

verified by TherapyRoute

I am a Clinical Psychologist working with children, adolescents, and adults through a psychoanalytic and psychodynamic framework. My clinical work focuses on understanding the emotional meaning behind symptoms, relationships, behavioral difficulties, and developmental challenges. I provide psychotherapy in Turkish, English, and French, offering a thoughtful and confidential space where individuals can explore emotional struggles, anxiety, identity issues, relational patterns, parenting challenges, and inner conflicts in depth. Alongside individual psychotherapy, I also work closely with parents to better understand children’s emotional worlds and developmental processes. My approach aims not only to reduce symptoms, but also to support emotional growth, self-awareness, and long-term psychological well-being. I value creating a safe, attentive, and reflective therapeutic relationship tailored to each person’s unique experience.

About Me

I graduated from St. Benoît French High School in Istanbul and completed my undergraduate studies in Psychology at Istanbul Bilgi University. I later earned my Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Işık University. During my undergraduate education, I completed internships at Marmara Research and Training Hospital’s Psychiatry Department, where I worked in the areas of family and couples therapy, sexual dysfunctions, and anxiety disorders. I also worked with children diagnosed with pervasive developmental disorders in special education centers. In addition, I volunteered as a psychologist and educator in non-governmental organizations including TEGV (Educational Volunteers Foundation of Turkey) and TOFD (Turkish Spinal Cord Paralytics Association). During my graduate studies, I completed my clinical internship at Erenköy Mental and Neurological Diseases Hospital and conducted individual psychotherapy sessions under supervision at Işık University Clinical Psychology Unit. Throughout and following my graduate education, I provided psychological counseling services to English- and French-speaking preschools. Between 2019 and 2024, I continued my clinical work with children and adolescents at Madalyon Psychiatry Center. Since 2021, I have been translating psychoanalytic articles and texts for Psikanaliz Defterleri and various publications. Since the beginning of my professional career, I have actively pursued seminars and trainings in psychoanalytic theory and practice. I continue to receive individual supervision from a psychoanalyst affiliated with the International Psychoanalytical Association (IPA) and the Société Psychanalytique de Paris (SPP). I currently practice at the office I co-founded, where I provide psychoanalytic psychotherapy both online and in person. I offer therapy in Turkish, English, and French, and continue my work in psychoanalytic book and article translation. I am also a member of the Clinical Psychology Advisory Board at Işık University. I am a member of the Turkish Psychologists Association and the Istanbul Psychoanalytic Psychosomatics Association.

Approach

I work from a psychoanalytic and psychodynamic perspective, with a focus on understanding the deeper emotional meanings behind symptoms, behaviors, relationships, and recurring life patterns. Rather than offering quick solutions, I aim to create a reflective and supportive space where clients can explore their inner world with curiosity and openness. In therapy, I pay close attention to emotional experiences, developmental history, relationship dynamics, and the ways people cope with anxiety, conflict, and change. I believe that many emotional difficulties are connected to unconscious patterns that deserve to be understood rather than judged. I work with children, adolescents, adults, and parents, tailoring the therapeutic process to each individual’s unique needs and emotional experience. My approach is thoughtful, collaborative, and grounded in creating a safe therapeutic relationship where genuine psychological growth can emerge. Therapy is not only about symptom relief, but also about developing deeper self-understanding, emotional capacity, and more meaningful connections with oneself and others.
