Ms Candice Wakelin

Clinical Psychologist

A dedicated, compassionate, clinical psychologist with a love for working with adolescents and adults. Using predominantly CBT and DBT approaches. Rooms situated in Gardens, Cape Town.

About Me

As a clinical psychologist, I'm deeply committed to supporting adolescents and adults. I guide individuals through life's complexities, helping them develop practical tools for managing difficult emotions. We can explore effective strategies, such as those found in DBT, to build resilience and foster lasting well-being. This focused, collaborative approach offers clear, actionable ways to cope with stress and strengthen coping skills.

Approach

Committed to practical, collaborative work, I help people translate insights into small, doable steps during sessions. Sessions happen in my Gardens consulting room or via online appointments in English, paced to fit school, work or family routines. We try brief behavioural experiments, emotion-regulation practices and simple between-session tasks to build tolerance, track progress and strengthen coping using clear, skill-based feedback. This way of working often suits teens and adults who want structured support alongside gentle encouragement.
