Mrs Beverley Miles

Licensed Clinical Psychologists

I am an older Psychotherapist (more than 30 years experience!) who tends to work in a psychodynamic way in therapy.

About Me

With over thirty years' experience, I offer a stable and reflective space. I work psychodynamically, helping you explore how past experiences and unconscious patterns influence your present. This deeper insight can lead to lasting change. Many find this ideal for understanding their struggles' origins and building new ways forward.

Approach

Sessions move at a measured, reflective pace, inviting you to notice recurring feelings, memories and relationship patterns while staying rooted in the here-and-now. In Pietermaritzburg I meet people face-to-face and online in English; sessions blend attentive listening, gentle interpretation and practical ways to test new responses, with occasional short tasks between meetings to deepen awareness. With children I use age-appropriate engagement to observe and reflect; with adults and couples we explore how early experiences show up now. This approach often helps those wanting clearer insight and steadier relationships.
