Licensed Psychologist,
Saint Laurent. Downtown, Ottawa.
Based in Canada, seeing clients in Hong Kong! I work with clients who are looking for scientific evidence-based practice and warm caring connection. I believe that change starts with the relationship that we form in the therapy and then continues by building useful skills in and outside of our sessions. In practice this means that I fit best with clients who are interested in (1) understanding more about their thoughts and emotions while also (2) taking clear steps to improve their mental and physical well-being. My job as the therapist is to provide a warm and caring environment to support the client in this process.
My specialty is a blend of mindfulness, self-compassion, and cognitive-behavioral techniques. First, mindfulness builds awareness and acceptance of experience. Then, self-compassion soothes and brings a sense of warmth and comfort to all areas of life. Finally, cognitive and behavioral techniques are used to produce profound changes in thinking and behavior.
My process begins with an online assessment that you can take from home and a brief phone call to discuss your results. On the call we discuss what came up in the assessment, and I spend a little time describing my approach and why it might or might not work for you. Please feel free to get in touch to set up this free assessment and consultation.
