Miss Avista Amuyan

Registered Psychotherapist

Reaching out for therapy can feel intimidating, especially during times of stress, emotional overwhelm, or major life changes. I understand how vulnerable it can be to take that first step, and I feel honoured to support clients as they navigate these challenges. I work with adults experiencing depression, anxiety, stress, grief, burnout, and life transitions. Many of the clients I support feel stuck, emotionally drained, or unsure how to move forward, even when they’ve tried coping on their own. My approach is warm, collaborative and client-centred.

About Me

Reaching out for therapy can feel intimidating, especially during times of stress, emotional overwhelm, or major life changes. I understand how vulnerable it can be to take that first step, and I feel honoured to support clients as they navigate these challenges. I work with adults experiencing depression, anxiety, stress, grief, burnout, and life transitions. Many of the clients I support feel stuck, emotionally drained, or unsure how to move forward, even when they’ve tried coping on their own. My approach is warm, collaborative and client-centred. I work from a biopsychosocial framework, recognizing that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. Together, we shape the therapeutic process around your unique needs, values, and goals, moving at a pace that feels supportive and manageable.

Approach

I strive to provide a safe, non-judgmental, and compassionate space where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences openly. As someone who comes from an immigrant family, I am mindful of cultural identity, intergenerational dynamics, and the pressures that can come with navigating multiple worlds.
