About Me

Apoorva is an experienced psychotherapist who specializes in providing psychotherapy to adult clients experiencing various mental health concerns such as difficulties with emotions, interpersonal stress, depression, anxiety, personality and trauma related concerns among others. She has worked extensively with clients experiencing highly complex and chronic difficulties requiring long term therapeutic work. She was formerly associated with National Institute Of Mental Health & Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS), Bangalore as a clinical psychologist and researcher. Apoorva also provides supervision to early career therapists. Her therapeutic approach has evolved over the years with her experience and training as a psychotherapist. Apoorva believes psychotherapy should serve to be an emotionally corrective experience for clients. She follows a person centred and process oriented integrative therapy approach with influences from cognitive behavioral, psychodynamic and trauma informed approaches while also incorporating a systemic lens to address complex issues more holistically. She has received grounding in psychodynamic theory from Ambedkar University Delhi. She has also received higher training in cognitive behavior therapy(CBT) from the Beck Institute, USA and in family and systemic therapy from Bower Place, Australia. She is also currently undergoing further certified training in complex trauma Level 1& 2 by Dr Janina Fisher facilitated by PESI, USA.
