Dr Andrew Burr

Clinical Psychologist

Dr. Burr provides EMDR for trauma related issues, as well as CBT and mindfulness-based strategies for adult clients.

About Me

I help adult clients navigate challenging experiences like trauma, anxiety, or stress. When past experiences weigh heavily, I offer EMDR to process and heal. My approach also integrates CBT and mindfulness-based strategies to build practical coping skills for daily life. We will work together to understand your unique concerns and find effective ways forward. Clients often find my guidance clear and supportive, helping them gain lasting resilience.

Approach

Using EMDR, CBT and mindful attention as tools, I pace sessions to match what feels manageable for you, alternating focused processing with practical skill-building. In my Ottawa office I work in English and aim for clear check-ins, gentle titration of intensity, and short between-session experiments to try out new coping steps. Sessions are collaborative: we set targets together, track small changes, and adjust methods when something isn’t landing. Adults who want concrete progress with steady emotional support often find this way of working helpful.
