Dr Andrea O’Neill

Psychoanalyst

I am an educator and psychoanalyst who supports children in natural play environments (oneilltutoring.com).

About Me

I guide children to explore their inner worlds through the freedom of natural play. As an educator and psychoanalyst, I understand how play nurtures young minds. This unique environment allows children to process big feelings and develop confidence. It is ideal for those who struggle to express themselves verbally. Here, children can simply be themselves, discovering their own ways to make sense of experiences at their pace.

Approach

Sessions unfold as open, child-led exploration where I follow each child’s rhythm, offering gentle prompts and materials that invite expression. In South Burlington I work in English, typically outside or in a calm indoor space, keeping pace with what feels safe and manageable. I listen for recurring themes in play, name feelings in simple, reflective ways, and share brief, practical observations with caregivers so insights extend between meetings. This approach often helps children who find words hard and families seeking steady, confidence-building change.
