Ms Alison Dale

Psychotherapist (Registered)

As a psychodynamic psychotherapist, I draw on my wealth of experience to help adults navigate emotional and psychological problems. I offer a supportive space where we can explore your feelings and thoughts From time to time we can all face, what seem like, insurmountable problems. Coping with these problems and the thoughts and emotions they arouse, may make us feel overwhelmed, depressed, angry or even, at times, suicidal. Our anxiety and stress can increase and we start to have difficulties in our relationships. Together, we work to understand challenges and develop practical ways to manage difficulties

About Me

I am a member of the British Psychoanalytical Council (BPC), the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I am regulated by the Professional Standards Authority (accredited register)

Approach

Regularly meeting (face to face or online) for a session (50 minutes every week) to talk with a qualified therapist, someone who is not a friend but with whom you can talk in confidence, without fear or judgment, can help in situations such as these. This is what I offer I offer both online and face to face sessions I offer "open ended" therapy ie you can come for as long as we both feel it is useful to you. Most clients, if they are getting something from it, tend to stay for some time Sometimes the therapy sessions can be upsetting and challenging but that is when it is worth sticking with it as such times might lead to break throughs in how you view your situation and your relationship with others
