Ms Alexis Mabon

Registered Social Worker

I provide trauma-informed, attachment-focused psychotherapy for individuals who are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, emotionally exhausted, or disconnected from themselves and others. My approach is warm, relational, and rooted in creating emotional safety. I integrate evidence-based therapy with a deep understanding of the nervous system, attachment patterns, and the ways past experiences can continue to shape present-day struggles. I support clients in exploring anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, self-worth, emotional dysregulation, and the impact of developmental or relational wounds. My work is grounded in helping people understand themselves with more compassion, build greater inner stability, and move toward healing in a way that feels manageable and meaningful. Clients often tell me they appreciate that I am both gentle and grounded — someone who helps them feel seen while also offering practical tools and insight. I believe healing happens in safe connection, and I aim to create a space where you do not have to carry everything alone.

About Me

Hi, I’m Alexis Mabon, MSW, RSW. I’m a trauma-informed psychotherapist who offers virtual therapy across Ontario. My work is deeply rooted in helping people make sense of their stories, understand their emotional patterns, and begin healing from the inside out. I have experience supporting individuals with trauma, anxiety, attachment wounds, relationship struggles, emotional overwhelm, and life transitions. My style is compassionate, attuned, and human. I value creating a space where clients feel emotionally safe, respected, and truly met — not judged, rushed, or reduced to a label. My approach is informed by attachment theory, nervous system regulation, somatic awareness, and evidence-based trauma therapy. I believe healing is not about “fixing” who you are, but about understanding what you’ve been through, reconnecting with yourself, and learning how to move through life with greater clarity, steadiness, and self-compassion.

Approach

My work is grounded in trauma-informed, attachment-based care, with a strong focus on nervous system regulation and whole-person healing. I integrate a range of evidence-based and compassion-focused approaches to support clients in a way that is both clinically effective and deeply human. My training and areas of focus include: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) Compassion-Focused Therapy Attachment-Based Therapy Somatic Resourcing and Nervous System Regulation (polyvagal-informed) EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) for trauma processing Trauma-Informed Care and Developmental Trauma I draw from these approaches flexibly, tailoring therapy to each individual’s needs, pace, and lived experience. My focus is not just on symptom relief, but on helping clients understand the deeper patterns shaping their thoughts, emotions, and relationships — and creating meaningful, lasting change.

Basic Information

Services

Specializations I specialize in supporting individuals navigating trauma and developmental or relational trauma, anxiety, chronic stress, and emotional overwhelm. I work with clients experiencing attachment wounds, relationship difficulties, low self-worth, shame, and persistent inner criticism. I also support individuals struggling with emotional dysregulation, including feeling “too much,” easily overwhelmed, or emotionally shut down. My work often focuses on helping clients move through patterns such as people-pleasing, over-functioning, avoidance, and difficulty feeling safe or secure in relationships. I have a particular interest in working with individuals who appear high-functioning on the outside but are struggling internally, as well as those seeking a deeper, insight-oriented approach to healing that integrates both emotional understanding and nervous system regulation.
