I provide client-centered psychotherapy for adults, offered online for individuals living in Japan or abroad. My work focuses on creating a calm, supportive space where clients can explore their thoughts, emotions, and life experiences at their own pace, without judgment or pressure.

About Me

Working with me is meant to feel calm, supportive, and collaborative. I aim to create a space where you can speak openly, reflect honestly, and explore what you are experiencing without feeling judged, rushed, or pressured to “have it all figured out.” I work primarily with adults who may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, uncertain, or simply wanting a better understanding of themselves. Many of the people I support are navigating stress, emotional difficulties, relationship concerns, identity questions, or major life transitions. Having lived in Japan for over a decade, I am particularly familiar with the challenges that can arise from cultural differences between Japanese society and foreign backgrounds. I often work with clients who are navigating cross-cultural relationships, communication difficulties, identity concerns, or the emotional impact of living abroad, and I support them in finding ways to move through these experiences with greater clarity and balance. Rather than focusing on quick fixes or labels, I place emphasis on understanding your experiences at a deeper level and helping you develop greater self-awareness and emotional resilience over time.

Approach

My approach is primarily client-centered, meaning therapy is guided by your experiences, values, and goals. I believe meaningful change happens when clients feel genuinely heard, respected, and understood. Rather than giving advice or imposing interpretations, I work collaboratively with clients to explore emotions, patterns, and underlying concerns at a pace that feels safe and manageable. I place strong emphasis on emotional awareness, self-understanding, and developing healthier ways of relating to oneself and others. Therapy is not about “fixing” you, but about supporting insight, growth, and self-compassion.
