Mrs Abigail Simpson

Educational Psychologist

I have 20 years of experience working in education, firstly as a teacher and remedial specialist and now as an educational psychologist. I assess children and adolescents and offer therapy to students and young adults.

About Me

My two decades in education, as a teacher and remedial specialist, give me a deep understanding of the unique pressures young people face. I assess children and adolescents, then guide students and young adults through therapy. Our work explores individual strengths and challenges, offering clear insights into learning styles. Sessions provide practical, tailored strategies to navigate academic and social life confidently. I aim to foster resilience and well-being, helping each person thrive.

Approach

Building on my classroom and remedial experience, therapy focuses on turning assessment findings into clear, manageable steps that fit everyday school and home life. In Cape Town I work in English in calm, structured sessions where we map learning patterns, practise skills together and use short between-session tasks to consolidate progress. The pace is collaborative and practical — we balance problem-solving with simple explanations so students and young adults feel understood and able to try new strategies. This approach suits those facing attention or learning challenges.
