Institute for Psychodynamic Child Psychotherapy

Art Therapist

The IPCP is dedicated to the development and training of clinicians in the field of child, adolescent and adult therapy in South Africa.

About Us

We offer art therapy and training in Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa. We run community programmes that use art to improve wellbeing. We teach practical coping skills through group workshops and training.

Approach

In Johannesburg community rooms and training spaces, we shape sessions so hands-on art processes become opportunities for noticing, naming and practising new coping skills. Clinician trainees and community members work alongside experienced facilitators; sessions move between brief creative tasks, shared reflection and short practical experiments to try between meetings. We keep pace flexible, safety prioritized, and feedback tightly linked to skill-building. This approach suits caregivers, practitioners and groups seeking concrete, practice-focused learning that strengthens everyday wellbeing.
