Approach

Freud said that everything we say has meaning, but we do not always mean everything we say.

My approach is to enable a space for individuals and couples to be authentic and honest about what they feel and think. Our behaviour, thoughts, feelings, anxieties and fantasies are rooted in an unconscious self.

When we are able to be curious about ourselves, our relationships and the world, it becomes increasingly possible for us to be more present in our daily lives.

My experience and background

I have been in Private Practice for 15 years. Prior to that, I worked in a Corporate Environment for 14 years involved in Leadership development, Individual development and team development.

How I understand psychological suffering

When we experience symptoms that cause us distress and disrupt our familiar way of functioning (for example anxiety, obsessive behaviours, eating disorders, sleep disorders, low mood, addictions, etc), it means that the ways we developed to protect ourselves in the world, are failing us. It is an indication that we need to explore and develop different ways to be in the world.
